Obsidian has officially revealed the next big thing in its survival-adventure saga Grounded 2, set to launch in Early Access on July 29. If you thought the first game’s backyard-sized adventure was wild, this one’s going all out. With a world nearly five times larger than the original, more detailed environments, new threats, and smarter crafting systems, Grounded 2 is shaping up to be the studio’s most ambitious release yet.
But here’s what’s truly unexpected: the system requirements are incredibly light. In an era where games are becoming more hardware-hungry, Obsidian is doing the opposite. You won’t need a monster PC to run Grounded 2. In fact, it might run just fine on setups that are a few years old.
Here’s a breakdown of the minimum system requirements:
Component | Minimum Requirements |
OS | Windows 10 (v1909 or higher) |
Processor | Intel i5-8400 |
Graphics Card | NVIDIA GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 580 |
Memory (RAM) | 8 GB |
Storage | 20 GB available space |
Despite these modest requirements, Obsidian has included support for advanced features like AI-enhanced rendering, Super Resolution, and Multiframe Generation, which means even mid-tier PCs will enjoy smooth and impressive visuals.
Grounded 2 will come in three versions:
- Standard Edition: $29.99
- Founder’s Edition: $39.99
- Founder’s Pack (Game Pass Exclusive): $9.99
The developers have promised frequent updates during the Early Access period, including new biomes, creatures, and story content. Multiplayer is back too, with smoother co-op support and expanded building tools.
And while gamers are thrilled with how accessible the game is, Apple users might be facing the opposite experience. In the ongoing Google case, analysts predict a major shake-up:
“If the courts force Apple to ditch Google as the default, you might have to choose your preferred search engine manually when setting up your device. It’s a small step, but one that could impact how millions search the web every day.”
So while Grounded 2 is all about making things easier for players, the rest of the tech world might be heading toward more complicated choices.
